I'm so spoiled. Up to this point, Farmers has paid for my books. NOW I have to pay for my own because I'll be leaving Farmers before I get my spring grades to show that they are above a C and I don't have to reimburse them. Soo....fortunately I only have to buy 4 books this semester - 1 for each class I'm taking, my books for the summer are included in the fees, I'll have ZERO books to buy for NEXT fall b/c it's indepedent research and I'll only have 2 classes my last spring. The evil total so far?
Purchase of B&N Membership (to offset): $25.00
Total costs of 2 books with B&N membership: +$144.84
Used my mastercard at B&N & got $10 discount: -$10.00
Shipping at B&N: Free
Amazon.com for 1 book (with shipping): +$78.99
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Current cost for 3 books to date: $238.83
My last book - Modern Family Law by Weisberg - is out EVERYWHERE and I might have to suck it up & buy it from the bookstore, at a 30% over online price markup. Ick. I figured since the NET savings at B&N would be $9 after paying for the membership, still $9. Not too bad considering every other semester my books have been over $600. So cool that my savvy shopping habits extend to law books. Buy them from the bookstore when I have to pay for them...I think not.
