London Funk

Today I was in a bit of a funk. I don't know what it is - perhaps it's just that I'm spending so much time with people and no time to myself. Whereas in Edinburgh, I could disappear into my room for a couple of hours, here my roommate is in my room. But it's the other side of a coin, in about 2.5 weeks, I'm going to have all the "alone" I can handle for a bit - so I'm trying to enjoy the company of others. It's interesting. But today after class, I had the Acorn fix my internet (MAC address was wrong - I hit the nail on the head there), walked home & ate a bit of lunch, then walked allllll the way down Farringdon Road to the Thames and then out towards Big Ben. Then I took a boat cruise up the Thames so that I could see the London Bridge and stuff. I took a bunch of PICTURES - this being the first time that I have remembered to bring my camera anywhere in London.

I think this weekend I'm going to spend some time sitting against a tree in Hyde Park and reading, then I'm thinking I'm going to go to the London Zoo. I want to spend some "down" time just hanging out. This class really gives us the time to do that - I like that. But for right now, I'm thinking about downloading a movie from ITunes or something - I think a bit of distraction is in order. They say that in order to grow, you need to make yourself uncomfortable. By the time I get home, I may very well have the intellectual composure of an 80 year old. Who knows.
