Today I walked, and walked, and walked, and WALKED. I took the metro to Chatlet and got out and started walking. I walked all the way up the Seine - saw Notre Dame, the Petit and Grand Palais, the Assemblie Nationale, the Louvre, the Arc de Triomphe, and the Chammps Elysses (don't know if I'm spelling everything properly, but oh well.) I wandered so far I had to stop and dump 8 Euro on a map because I had NO idea where I was. I think I walked 20 miles. I walked all over Paris. I took some awesome PICTURES that I hope you all love. It was a lot of fun wandering around. My second day in Paris was a much better experience than the first. Turns out that it isn't all Parisians that are cranky, just the ones that run my hotel, which is really really funny because they are Korean. They were talking Korean to each other when I got here the other day. But they are cranky with me because of my lack of French. Weird.
Tomorrow I think I'm going to go to Versailles. I really want to see it, I'm here, it's a good time to go. I don't know how the weather will be. It was nice this morning but got rainy and cold in the afternoon. I don't want it to be hot (especially since I still haven't sorted out where the shower is in this hotel so I'm taking "baths" in my sink), but I'd like the sun to come out. It was so gloomy in the UK, I'd like to see the sun sometime this summer before I go to Australia where it is winter, not to return until nearly fall.
Whine whine. I know - I'm on the first day of an 8 week vacation and I'm whining. I'll shut it.
One more day in France, then I'm off to Belgium. I'm calling this the whirlwind part of my tour. We'll see how the internet thing goes at each stage of my journey. But I'll be certain to update as much as possible.
Bon soir!
