Phew! Recovering...

OK - so, what do you do in Zürich? You do what every "good American" does, you shop. OK - so there were genuinely some things I needed - toiletries, a bathing suit, jeans. I don't think I bought anything heinous - but this is Zürich, Switzerland - financial capital of quite possibly the world. You have a lot of stores that they don't have in Minnesota - Prada, Dior, Gucci, Chanel. All on one beautiful little street they call the Bahnhofstrasse. **Sigh** When I "make it" someday, I am coming back here to shop. It is beautiful. BUT, things cost more. Fortunately, if you bear in mind that it is the Swiss Franc and not the Euro or the Pound, it's a little easier to bear - but lets take stock of what Rebecca bought today:

Reserved airport shuttle SFr. 25.00
Paper SFr. 3.80
Coffee SFr. 6.50
Bracelet Charm (Cuckoo Clock!) SFr. 49.50
Jeans (Old ones blew it) SFr. 59.90
Books (old habits…) SFr. 41.00
Toiletries (hair ties, soap) SFr. 18.80
Lunch SFr. 10.50
Diet Coke SFr. 4.50
Dictionary SFr. 31.50
Bathing Suit SFr. 169.90
TOTAL SFr. 420.90
AMERICAN: $350.44
So, I spent about $350. The most expensive thing I bought was my bathing suit, but I really liked it. It is so damn traumatic for me to buy a bathing suit PERIOD - I figured if I actually liked it, I should get it. It's a simple black bathing suit with a glittery thing in the center. Oh heck - here's a picture:

I really liked it - it's simple and BLACK. It was about $153 USD, but I can wear it for a long time. The quality is really good.

So, now I'm back at my hotel room refreshing myself. Drinking more water (I never seem to be able to get enough, but I am walking a LOT and it is WARM).

Mick gets here tomorrow morning! Hooray!
