I can feel new neurons growing!!!

Sometimes I can feel new neurons growing - it's a really great feeling. I am thoroughly enjoying the working group. I am meeting the delegates from all the different countries and it is really interesting. I had a very interesting conversation with the representative from Sweden during lunch about the growth of thought and rate of change in Western culture. Our topic ranged everywhere from trade between the United States and the Nordic countries and the effect of the value of the dollar on trade, to changing values and adapting to globalization. It's food for a hungry brain. I enjoyed it a great deal - he's a really interesting conversationalist. It's not the first time since I've been here that I feel as if I'm a participant in intellectual discourse that allows me to stretch my brain. I feel like I've been starving for that for a few years and finally getting it. It's really enjoyable.

One thing that I'm really enjoying about the working group is that I feel like I'm in a room with a lot of great minds. People that are well educated and well informed, members of a global community. It's heartening and inspiring. It's times like this that I'm glad that I came. In fact, I have to say that I'm glad that I came all around. Even if I went home tomorrow, I would say that this has been enough. It's just great because it keeps going. If anyone asked me if I thought that this was a positive experience, I would say that it absolutely was and is. Entirely unique. A lot of the other interns seem unhappy with it all, but I think that they should try to be open to the experience. Not to have expectations, take it for what it is. When you do, good things happen.
