All is quiet on the Vienna front. The Viennale event was fabulous. I really must say that I enjoyed it. I would have enjoyed it more if Jane hadn't decided to use it to support her political agenda (as in "I know you ain't talking smack about my hood.") Following the film, we went for a drink at a posh Spanish club off Stephansplatz. I wish I could remember WHAT it was called - but if anyone wants to go, I'm certain I can find my way back.
The Transport Working Group marches on. I had the chance to talk with the rep from the MLO today. He had some great pointers for job hunting. I've officially befriended the rep from Romania. I feel bad for dissing her earlier. She really is quite nice. I can empathize with how long these meetings get. Tomorrow we're going to have lunch in the super-fab UN Cafeteria (which, if you're trying to imagine what this place is like, just imagine locusts swarming and you have the UNC between 11:30 & 14:00. NICE.) Today was a little bit random and they lost me right off the bat. I stayed lost for most of the day. Eventually I resorted to working on the digital signature and e-commerce stuff that I need to finish. I hope I pick it back up tomorrow, it's the last full day of deliberations - after which there are break out sessions and then a summation day. I don't anticipate attending either of these as I need to step up the work on the New York Convention status that I've been tasked with.
I'm trying not to worry about the next 10 years of my life, but that tends to be my modus operandi. I had a plan to get where I am today - Europe, internship, travel, law school. However now I have to reassess and sort out what the next five year plan should look like. Where do I want to work (I think MN with a job where I travel most of the time), doing what (again, I think I want to facilitate international trade for a US corporation while protecting intellectual property rights in conjunction therewith), for who (who is going to hire me might be the more pertinent question!!). I should put a plan for searching in place. The attorney for the MLO said now would be a perfect time to start looking and sending letters. He emphasized the importance of a smashing cover letter. He said a CV is bunk if they don't make it through the cover letter. Good thinking. I anticipate that I'll actually START when I get back to the States in December, but I should start researching companies now in addition to updating the CV and drafting a CL.
Sheesh. Getting old is crazy.
Speaking of which - decided that I am turning 30 and it's time to upgrade to a smashing red lipstick. I ended up getting Guerlain's KissKiss Lipstick in Red Strass 521 (a shimmering golden red). Thanks to the Romanian delegate, I actually got a great deal on it. It is...really red. But I'm so white. It's a good color on me. All grow'd up. Sheesh.
