So each day I just sort of meander my way through the day at work. I get most of my work done by 10:30 or 11:00, sometimes I leave a payment or 2 for the afternoon, but not often. I then surf the internet looking for information for my trip for several hours. For example, now I'm trying to figure out what the heck I have to do to stay in Austria LEGALLY for the time that I am going to be there. I, aspiring to be a lawyer and all, am very keen on assuring that what I am doing is legal & proper, thus, I have to figure out how to get a visa in Austria once I get there. Most info seems available here: http://www.austria.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=49&Itemid=104 - It would seem that it is a Schengen visa. The problem is, I'm going to be in Schengen states for 2 months prior to my arrival in Austria, I think I need to be sure that I'm legal before I get there. Do I qualify as a student as long as I am pursuing academic credit or do I need to be doing it THERE - because that might actually be do-able. I'm meeting with the dean to find out. In that instance, this might be more appropriate: http://www.austria.org/internet.shtml - but I need to do more work there too.
At least it is easier being a US citizen - we seem to have more mobility in th EU than a lot of citizens of other countries. THAT is cool. Just how does one stay IN? The only issue is that the UN hasn't sent me a notarized letter, it's just a letter of invitation & I don't know what else I need to do. If I leave the Schengen countries & then return, then what? I need to purchase my return ticket - I wonder if I can simply show proof of return funds? That is what a lot of websites SAY. We'll see.
I'm rambling. Work gets me so bored.
