I must say that one thing that I will not miss when I leave FIG is the office drama. The manager's secretary creates drama that affects everyone. We have this thing called "Go for the Gold" - I've never entirely understood it, but if agent's meet sales goals in the state, then we get money (boggles my mind because the agent's are doing the work...whatever. But it's up to $400 in $100 increments). MN & WI did not meet their goals this year, thus received nothing. Welllll....for some bizarre reason we don't understand the Vendor Team was based on the zone and not our individual states. So, the vendor team got checks. The manager's secretary was actually calling us "motherf'rs" - I kid you not. This woman is 62 years old, mother of 4, grandmother to 7, and she is calling us vulgar & profane names because our team services NINE states instead of their measly ONE. It was appalling.
Whatever...I'll take the money. Women are so dramatic.
Well, I do believe that I have made it through what will most likely be the last hell week at work. After this past week, I'm not in the office terribly much over the next 2 months, then I'm done. I'll certainly miss my paycheck. That will be sad. But aside from that...I'm looking forward to having the year to myself. Terrified of the whole money thing...but I'm just going to have to deal. I'm saving everything I can right now, the overtime that I worked this week is going straight to the savings account, as is the mystery check. One month until profit sharing. 1 month after that I am GONE. Bizaree.
I'm having such a lovely, lazy day.
