Sometimes cool things happen - met the US Ambassador to Denmark this morning at breakfast. We discussed Genetically Modified Organisms & exports to the Nordic countries. Not favorable. But it was really neat to get to meet him and the illustrious Walter Mondale. Guess now I can say "Well, as I was discussing with the US Amabassdor to Denmark this morning..." Tee hee, snort.
OK - so they were going to take me off claims on Wednesday, now it's going to be Friday. Why, you may ask? Because the other 2 are going to Wisconsin to meet other vendors on Thursday & they "need" me on assignment that day. I hate to break it to you, but you're going to have to get used to me NOT being here and NOT having me as a fall back. Here's another question - how do I get my work done SO much faster than everyone else? My scores are about the same. But I work a fraction of the overtime [meaning usually none at all]. How does THAT work?
I felt a bit overwhelmed this morning - there were all these uber-accomplished people at breakfast & then there is little old me. I keep thinking that there are not enough years in my life left for me to do everything that I want to do. I sat down to breakfast with Ambassadors, CEO's and former Vice Presidents. And then there is me - with a whole life yet to lead & not knowing how to get where I want to be.
Oh damn, there is birthday cake in the back room & I am trying reeeeeaaaaalllly hard to give up the sweets. I'm just NOT going to go back there. I need to focus on my health.
