OK! So I went to the VitreoRetinal surgeon this morning and it is NOT CSR, but is a retinal vein occlusion or something like that. Not really clear except that it is NOT Macular Degeneration. Phew. BUT - I will always have a spot in my vision. That is NEVER going away. It might improve as the blood vessels harden that are leaking, but where they harden, I'm going to have a spot in my vision. Greeeeaaat (I did have the pictures done, the girl that did it was that good that she did not need to dilate my eyes - love her - but I did pass out from the dye injection. Whoops.) She is proposing to inject me with Avastin in my eyeball which is a VEGF treatment for colorectal cancer. It's made by Genentech...so naturally my first call was to Michele with a "What IS this?". She was able to explain Avastin & Lucentis to me, so that was a start. I'm just uber-squeamish. Plus, I'm worried that I am about to leave the country - if something were to go wrong, I'd be in Europe. Michele did point out that I could have this done in Europe too if I needed to - she believes it would be better to have it done HERE. I'm inclined to agree...but I need to sort through the stuff she sent me on it.
Not to mention I got TWO vaccinations today and I called the school & the check they were supposed ot have cut for me for tomorrow is not going to be there because the girl that does the checks is out until Monday - then "maybe" she'll be cutting them. Uh - I need to get that check people. If I knew it was going to have to dink around with issues, then I would have made sure that I did it a month ago. Growl. Oh well - I'm sure that will sort itself out. I need to think about
finals.
