After a lovely train ride where I met 2 New Zelanders on their way for a trip around Europe and Morocco (lovely couple!) I made my way to my hostel on time. It's really nice - I'm suitably impressed. I'm staying at Wombat's - The Lounge. It's pretty gosh darn cool. Bar in the basement, nice rooms that will work for me. I don't need anything fancy. Right off the bat the girl at the desk gave me a ticket for the local bus tour that a girl wasn't going to use because she had to leave and I rode that around town all afternoon. I found where my apartment is already and where the UN City is (although I have yet to sort out HOW to get in - where is the fricking DOOR - does anyone KNOW?) My apartment is in a perfect location - right next to the park running down the canal and across the canal from the UN. There is a U station right out my door. It seems like it's about the perfect place for me to be. Tomorrow I'm on a mission to go take a ton of pictures. My hostel has free WiFi too - big huge cuddly bonus there.
So...things are looking really good thus far! Barring any disasters with me getting started at the UN, checking into my apartment, or getting my luggage, I'm good to go! Now I just need to buckle down and get cracking on my paper.
