Today I took off on my own a bit for a wander around Sydney. I took the train down into the city and got off at Circular Quay. I bought a coffee and a ferry ticket and rode the ferry out to Manly and back. I took oodles of PICTURES - many of them somewhat random, but I love them. I was playing with the settings on my camera, taking black & white and sepia toned photos of things. So, the photos may not resonate as a whole, but singularly there are quite a few that are really beautiful.
When I got back to Sydney I sat and had more coffee (it's an addiction I tell you) and scrawled out some postcards. After mailing those I wandered about and looked in the shop windows, had a bit of lunch (lovely frittata and salad) at a cafe on the Strand, confusing the waiter with my questions on the architecture. Then I wandered down and ambled around the Rocks, stopping in to wander around the Contemporary Art Museum for a couple hours. After which I had an ice cream that was both divine and stolen in part by a really cheeky and brave seagull that I gladly would have taken a potshot at. After which I took the train back to Revesby. All in all it was a lovely day. I found my book that I wanted on Austria, bought some chocolates for the people I'm staying with, and throughly enjoyed wandering about the city. I love Sydney. It's so modern and bustle-ly, but it has history too.
I could live here. I love it here!
