Oh boy, I LOVE the Singapore Airport! Free Internet! Swimming pool! Rest lounge! Wee pond with carp! **Sigh** a VERY nice place to transfer flights. On my way to Australia. Just one more 8 hour flight & I'm there. The flight from Frankfurt was LONG - 12 hours - but I managed to sleep for about 1/2 the flight. So, it's all good. Another reason to love the Singapore airport. I paid S$32.10 (about $21.11 USD) for use of one of their lounges that includes a shower, comfy seats, full beverages and a snack bar, a workout if I'm so inclined, and use of an outdoor garden if that strikes my fancy. It's very nice and was worth the $21. If you're traveling through the Singapore airport, I highly recommend it - the one I selected was the Plaza Premium Lounge- it's on the upper level next to the Movie Theatre. Nice & quiet. The shower made me feel 100% human again. That ALONE was worth it. (Incidentally, if you want JUST the shower, it's S$8 or about $5.25 USD. But by the time you got done buying some food, having a coffee, and hunting down a decent seat, you could have paid for & enjoyed an entire lounge at your disposal. So - that is my traveling trip for the day.
OK - what the HELL is up with the bridge in Minneapolis collapsing?!?! That doesn't happen in MINNEAPOLIS. It happens in California after huge earthquakes! Mom and Dad were sweet enough to get on the phone to my friends there & assure that they are OK - but oh my! That's terrible!

So perhaps its worth it to go to Singapore just to hang out at the airport? Why don't they have fun stuff like that at American airports? What happened in Minneapolis yesterday was awful...glad your friends are ok.
