I made it to Australia - I was pretty dead on my feet yesterday, but Lorelei was kind enough to keep me up and awake. Last night I slept like a log. I think one more night of good sleep and I'll be good to go. The flight over here was so long. I feel like somehow I've accomplished something simply by GETTING here - the trip felt like it would never end. The flight from Singapore was only 7 hours, which I've done before and thought that after Frankfurt to Singapore it would seem short, but it went on FOREVER. It was nice because Leecy recognized me and Tyler is cute as a button. Today we hung out and Hans made us pancakes for breakfast and we ate out in the yard. This afternoon they drove me down to Sydney to see the opera house at sunset and the Harbor Bridge. It's all just stunning. I fell in love with it. We also drove over to the Botanical Gardens and saw the two together. The PICTURES are amazing too.
I was talking to Lorelei & her mom [Robin] and I've decided to drive down to Canberra and then to Melbourne out a week or so from now. Robin's cousin lives down there and I'm going to stay with her for a day or so, then drive back up the coast along the ocean. I would love to see more of the country while I'm here and that will be a nice 4 or 5 day trip. Just to sort of get out & about a bit.
Love Australia already - it's more modern than any of the cities in Europe. I love the old elegance of Europe, but this is fun and just gorgeous. It's really good to see Lorelei. I feel more at home with friends.
